Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I choose the right attorney for my case?

After serious accidents, most people look for an attorney they can trust. Hallmarks of trustworthy lawyers include experience, a legacy of past successes, integration in the local community and a commitment to personalized service.

At Bruno & Bruno, we have been serving Louisiana clients for more than 60 years. With offices in New Orleans and Covington, we serve clients in both the North Shore and South Shore areas. Our attorneys have a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as a history of winning. Clients choose Bruno & Bruno because we care about them and we know how to win.

  • How much will it cost to prosecute the case?

Costs can significantly vary depending upon the complexity of the case. In most cases, costs range from $5,000 to $10,000. However, for those more complex cases, costs can exceed $75,000! These costs are advanced by Bruno & Bruno and are not recouped unless we obtain a recovery for you.

Of course, no one ever likes to lose. As aggressive attorneys, we fight for you to win. However, if we are unsuccessful, you do not have to pay any of the costs. You only pay if we win your case.

  • How long will my case take?

It really all depends on the extent of your injuries and what your doctor determines. With most cases though, you should not reach a settlement until you have reached the maximum medical improvement, more commonly referred to as MMI. This determination is made by your doctor, not an attorney. The MMI is the point in the healing process where your doctor believes you will not progress any further, meaning you have reached your maximum in terms of healing.

In short, reaching the closure of your case could take months or years, depending on the severity of your injuries, the complexity of the case and litigation leading up to resolution.

  • How much is my case worth?

There is no scientific method or formula to determine the value of your case. The value of your case depends upon numerous factors such as the severity of your injuries; past, present, and future medical needs; lost wages; etc. After we obtain all the necessary evidence to prove your case and after you have reached MMI, we will negotiate with the insurance company to settle your case. We will advise you of all settlement offers made by the insurance company to settle your case.
