Car accident leaves motorcyclist dead

It is important that all drivers traveling the roadways of Louisiana remain away of the other vehicles that are sharing the road. This is especially true of motorcycles. The nature of a motorcycle makes it a poor competitor for a passenger vehicle or something even larger in a car accident.

Unfortunately, motorcycles are so small that oftentimes drivers of passenger vehicles and commercial motor vehicles do not notice them on the road. When drivers do not see motorcycles around them it can often lead to a car accident resulting in potentially serious injuries. An accident that recently occurred in Shreveport, Louisiana left one motorcyclist dead.

According to police, the accident happened shortly before 4:00 in the afternoon. The authorities believe that the passenger vehicle struck the motorcycle as it was traveling eastbound. The initial collision caused the motorcyclist to be thrown from his vehicle. He was then tragically struck by another vehicle that was in the near vicinity.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries, which later became life threatening. He was pronounced dead from his injuries at the hospital.

The accident investigation is underway and therefore it is unknown whether any of the parties were under the influence of alcohol and whether either of them will be considered negligent for their actions or involvement leading up to the accident. If one party is determined to be negligent then the injured party and their surviving loved ones may be entitled to compensation from that negligent party.
